everything is illuminated

Step outside. Feel into the air, the changing light,

the landscape before you.

listen while you read

Leave the Calendar Behind

on the Autumnal Equinox

Let the pages loose,

to fly off

in the first Autumn breeze.

Instead of reading

what day, month, season

of the year it is,

step outside, feel into

the air, the changing light,

the landscape before you,

around you.

Let them tell you

where things are.

Like the Equinox

now balancing in,

Balanchine-ing in,

as you attend.

Let your body pivot

naturally, and

your thoughts glide

gently, away

from fleeting Summer

toward fanfaring Fall.

Witness everything

cooling down,

everything spooling

out, in clear light,

in soon to come

pageant colors,

fragrant scents,

abundant textures.

Accept the invitation

to rise with, like,

the Evening Star.

Take the offered hand

of Nature and

enter, together,

into its widely alive

and enlivening theatre.

a thought

The light of each season can season your being; your thoughts, your feelings.

a QUESTION

How conscious are you of the light? Especially the natural light.

Its qualities, effects, energies. And its changeabilities, at different times, places, weathers, and seasons. And around your varying states of being.

"I'm learning to see and appreciate how the light brings so much alive."

a Call to experience

Bring your awareness, or more of it, to the endless, wondrous plays of light,

large to small, around you today, and tomorrow, and the days and weeks ahead. From the sunlight to the moon-and-starlight, and all that receives, holds and reflects it.
